3 Instagram Updates You Need To Know About This Week
It can be overwhelming trying to keep up with all the latest social trends, app updates, and everything you’re told you should be doing. We get it.
We know you have limited time and resources on your hands, so we’ve chosen these 3 important updates to share with you to help streamline your systems.
1.
Schedule Reels directly in the mobile app up to 75 days in advance.
We previously had to go through third-party tools or Meta Business Suite to do this. Or, we simply posted whenever we found a free moment; this is not the best approach if we want to strategically post when our audience is most active.
This will be a huge game changer for those of you who are using Reels strategically to grow your following. It means you’ll be able to consistently post on the days and times that are most optimum, without having to log on manually to do so.
- How to schedule reels on Instagram:
The process is simple. Schedule content (Reels, posts) from the Instagram post composer by tapping Advanced settings and selecting Schedule this post. Select the time and the date you want the content to go live and tap Schedule. That’s it.
This feature will be rolled out in the next couple of weeks, with no date currently set.
2.
Instagram rolls out “subscription” services.
Instagram’s subscription services are the newest feature that enables businesses and creators to monetize content.
Creators can now add a button on their profile to allow their followers to buy a monthly subscription. This will enable creators, like you, to offer your products/services to your most engaged followers.
Subscriber features will look like: subscriber-only chats, exclusive posts & stories, subscriber badges and more.
Want to set up subscriptions on your account? Follow the steps outlined by Instagram here.
The caveat? You’ll have to wait for IG to invite you to offer these services on your profile.
3.
Introducing Instagram “Notes”
The new notes feature allows you to post short messages to your “Close Friends” or to followers that follow you back. These notes appear in circular boxes at the top of your message inbox on the app.
So, why should you care about this? Although capped at 60 characters and only existing for 24 hours, these notes are a great opportunity for advertising your offers, deadlines, or important info surrounding your business or non-profit.
The best part is, it’s easy to do and totally free. Because it’s a new feature, you’ll find that you’re not competing for “air time”. Most users haven’t begun utilizing this feature, so the notes that are there do stand out.
